Well, it's quite a question argued by people all the time. I think a person's personality has little relation to his family economic level. It's commonly said that a child in rich family will has more chances and better choice for his study. However, if the kid himself isn't aware of this, that is all in vain. It's not unusual that many children from rich family are quite rude and conceited although they are always receive the best education. Then, how about the poor family's children? There is another saying that adversity cultivates heroes. To be honest, I disagree with it too. Poor children should learn harder and catch every chance to strengthen themselves.

However, the reality is often not like that. Subjectively speaking, poor children are easy to feel inferior and thus can't study well. Even if they study well, they hardly do well in practicing ability. Objectively speaking, poor children can hardly receive good and plentiful education because of the economic limit. That will cause deficiency in some literal or artistic talent such as music or dance. Therefore, I think children's personality have little relation to their family situation.

Last summer,I had an English contest on environmental protection at the Youth Culture Palace of the city.What an unforttable experience for me!

The contest,whose aim was to let more people know the bad environmental conditions we are facing and the urgency of protecting it,was hosted by the Environmental Protection Burua.Fifty top contestants from twenty schools throughout the city took part.All of them were required to answer the questions in English in ten minutes.In order to prepare for it,I went through a very hard time.

When I was chosen to attend the competition,I felt nervous first,for my English was not good.But after a deep thinking,I made a decision that I should go for it.That's a very good opportunity for me to improve my English,as well as know more about the environmental protection which is of great importance to us human beings.I began to learn English very hard,paying much attention to the knowledge of environmental protection,such as using environmentally friendly bags instead of plastic ones,saving water and electricity and taking a bus and underground when going out.That's hard work,but I enjoyed it.

The exciting time came at last.On the morning of July 27th,20xx,thousands of people crowded at the Youth Culture Palace,watching the contest.Now it was my turn to perform.I was a little nervous at first.I tried to calm down.Soon I was OK.I answered the questions one after another,no mistakes occurring.Ten minutes passed by,I went back to my seat,smiles on my face.I did a good job.

To my great delight,the first prize came to me.I knew I deserved it.Hard work leads to success.

The 21st CENTURY speech contest was held on Friday afternoon in the lecture hall, Gaoxin

Campus. It was great. Each grade in our school had a speech contest. Eighteen candidates from Grade Six took part in it. The first three winners would go to the next grade.

All of the speakers prepared well for the speech. When the contest began, some of the speakers were very nervous as they were giving speech to the audience.

The thing that made me shocked was, when the speakers were giving a speech and the fellow students were so quiet that you could hear the speakers clearly. When our class speakers went up, our whole class was cheering, it was crazy. The speakers delivered their speeches very fluently that I couldn’t even do it so good.

I remember all of the speakers talked about their parents. They said all of the good things about their parents, but no one said their flaws. But I think everyone has already done a great job. They all did their best.

Congratulations to all the candidates on their excellent jobs. I hope all of them will do better and better in the future.

今天就是英语外研比赛的日子了，我被安排在下午2.30那场，老妈的单位离考场比较近，上午我便跟她去单位值班。

我在老妈的办公室里，一直都在背稿，时间过得很快，稿纸在我的手中不停地抖动，说好的不紧张呢?

简单吃了点饭，老妈看我这副状态，她提议说，咱们提前溜达着去吧，就当散散步。

午后的街道有些冷清，看到不错的景致，老妈竟不忘给我拍张照片啥的，她可真有兴致。不觉中就来到了“宝睿国际未来小学”门口，我们是下午考生中来得最早的。

等了好久一些家长才陪着孩子到来，有接待老师把我们安排在家长等候区，并给选手们讲了些注意事项，接着老师又读了考场名单，我被安排在第三考场。

这是初赛，演讲的内容是自我介绍加才艺表演。我看到有的选手准备得真棒!不光自己化了淡妆，还梳了很复杂很漂亮的辫子，有的还穿了美丽的裙子。有不少同学手里拿了画板，上面是他们精心绘制的图画，他们边指着自己的`画边小声念着英语，看来他们的才艺表演一定是用英语介绍自己的画了。而我的才艺显得多么的微不足道，我只打算读一首英文小诗。

上午考完的同学在群里发来信息，他们说很简单，评委主要看你的口语能力，觉得背不好的，也可以直接读，我终于有了一些安心。

马上就轮到我了，听到老师念我名字，稿子在我手中抖的更厉害了。原来考场里只有三位评委老师，但其中有一位外国人。我的心开始咚咚跳个不停，手心也开始冒汗。我刚说一句“Hello everyone.”，三位评委老师便微笑着向我点头示意。他们这一微笑，我反而不自在的很，我僵硬的站在他们面前，机械地象在用英文诵经一般，我甚至听到自己的声音就象一只大苍蝇在我周围嗡嗡着飞，它飞飞停停，停停飞飞，可恶极了。我发现三位评委老师都在低着头，记录着什么，也不知他们听清了这“嗡嗡”声没有。自我介绍环节很快就完了，我看没人看我，便拿出稿子，直接读那首“四季”的小诗。依然没人看我，平时读得一点问题都没有，此时竟卡了好几下，自己都觉得糟糕透顶。

三分钟终于结束了，我向三位评委鞠了躬说了“thank you”之后，心情才平静下来。

因为我是最后一场，所以，我来到家长区没多久，就有老师进来，当场宣布进入复赛的同学名单了。老师神采飞扬，声音洪亮，她说：“非常高兴地通知大家，祝贺以下进入复赛的同学，读到名字的同学也请家长一起上台!”

接着老师便念“张三，李四”，没有我的名字!

我沮丧极了，连为大家鼓掌的力气都没有了。

也许从我站到台上的那一刻就被评委老师“秒杀”掉了。老妈反倒安慰我说：“你在这里登过台，已经很棒了。但一定记住，台上一分钟，台下十年功啊。”

是的，通过参加这次比赛，我也找到了自己努力的方向。

路过一家烘焙店，我说：“老妈，给我买点吃的吧，我要化悲痛为力量!”
